How To Make Coloured Sugar At Home

Have you thought of making your own coloured sugar at home and save some monies for other ingredients for your bakes? You can create as many coloured sugar as you like and store them in small bottles for months for decorating cookies, cakes as well as birthday cakes. Making coloured sugar is really easy, without any effort as it can be done within minutes. Today I'm going to show you how to make coloured sugar with one colour. You don't really need any measurement, just a few tablespoons of coarse sugar (I used 50g), Wilton candy colours, a skewer, a spoon and a bowl.

Here is my Honey Cupcakes with sprinkled coloured sugar ~ stay tuned for my next post.

How To Make Coloured Sugar At Home

      Method:
  • Place sugar in a bowl and use a skewer to dip the colour and drop it on the sugar.
  • Use the  back of the spoon to mix the colour and sugar well together. Add slightly more to get a deeper colour.
  • When all of the sugar is saturated with colour, leave it to dry for about 5 minutes.
  • You may find some lumps after drying, use the back of the spoon and press to separate the sugar lumps or if it is real hard, just remove it.

Enjoy & have fun!

Happy 111111 !!!
