I enjoy eating Beef Bowl or Gyudon at Yoshinoya (a Japanese Fast Food) and used to cook this one dish meal at home quite often. When looking into my fridge tonight, I only have pork belly for Shabu-shabu….so why not make Pork Bowl instead.
Ingredients:
200g Pork belly – slice thinly
1 Large onion – slice thinly
Some Brocolli – cut to smaller pieces and blanch in boiling water with some salt and a drop of oil –
dish up and put under running water for 30 seconds and drain.
Some Carrot – slice and put in boiling water, cook till soft.
Sauce:
1 Cup water
3 tbsp Mirin
3 tbsp Kikkomann soy sauce
1/2 tsp Hondashi
Method:
-
Boil the sauce for few mins and add in slice onion and simmer till soft.
-
In another pot, boil enough water and put the sliced pork belly in it and stir the pork belly till almost cooked and transfer into the sauce to cook for another few mins.
-
Serve hot rice in a deep bowl, put cooked pork belly with sauce on top of rice. Place brocolli and carrot at the side and garnish with some nori seaweed.
-
Enjoy Eating!
