Steamed Prawn Dumplings 蒸虾饺

Here is another easy recipe and healthy version for making steamed prawn dumplings in a relatively short time. The main ingredient is prawn paste and you can also add some carrot cubes and corn kernels of your own choice. Besides steaming, you can either pan fry or deep fry the prawn dumplings. A perfect dim sum treat for your family to enjoy.

Steamed Prawn Dumplings

A healthy version of making steamed prawn dumplings for your family to enjoy at home

Ingredients
 

  • 200 g prawn paste
  • 40 g broccoli
  • 1/2 tsp light soya sauce
  • 1/4 tsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp sesame oil
  • dash of pepper
  • dumpling skin

Instructions
 

  • Blanch the broccoli in boiling water  with some salt for 2-3 minutes. Then drop the broccoli in cold water for a minute. Strain and cut broccoli finely.
  • Place all the ingredients in a bowl and mix well.
  • Place about 1 tablespoon prawn mixture in the middle of the wrapper and moisten the edge with little water (or moisten the wrapper before adding in the filling). Fold it up and seal, then place the top side down.  Repeat the same until you use up the ingredients (makes about 9 pieces).
  • Place a clean piece of parchment paper in the steamer and place prawn dumplings on top, then brush with some cooking oil, cover lid and steam at high heat for about 10 minutes. Serve hot immediately with your favourite dipping sauce - vinegar or chilli sauce.

  1. 西兰花汆烫(放入少许盐)约2-3分钟,然后放入冷水浸泡1分钟。沥干水分,切碎。
  2. 把所以的材料放入碗中拌匀。
  3. 将馅料(约1汤匙)放在水饺皮上,边缘沾一点水才收口(也可以先沾点水才放上馅料) – **请看视频** –  **可包约9个小蒸饺**。
  4. 蒸笼里铺上一张油纸,排上虾饺,刷上少许食用油,大火蒸约10分钟即可盛起享用 (可配上自己喜欢的酱料吃 – 醋或辣椒酱)。
  • 虾饺也可以拿去煎或炸,随自己喜欢~~
