Remember I posted 2 recipes using Roselle 洛神花）to make cupcake and jelly? Just to try my luck I stuffed the roselle seeds in the pot. It is not difficult to grow at all. I didn’t add any fertilizer but let it grow in full sunlight, watering them regularly and after 6 months, my Roselle plant is taller than me and blooming to pretty pink flowers with striking red calyxes. Roselle flower open as light yellow in colour and later change to gorgeous pink before they wither off by mid afternoon. Despite its short life span, about a year or so, it is very productive. Regular harvesting will lead to a better yield. When fruits remain uncollected and are left to mature, the plant will eventually die faster.

Have not shared my Cookie’s photos here for a long time. She is 14+ now. Still going strong and eating well. Unfortunately she’s lost hearing with age and back legs problem due to osteporosis arthristis and was treated with pain medication. She still walking but won’t be for long …..
She is still a happy dog!
