Crispy Baked Cod Fish Strips 香脆鳕鱼丝紫菜券
I remember that this snack which I made for the previous Chinese New Year was a great hit in our family. In fact it was all polished off even before the Chinese New Year holidays. It is indeed very addictive and you can’t stop grabbing one after another, trust me. So this time around, I bought the cod fish strips (not very sure whether it is really cod fish or some cuttlefish strips) from a shop at Fu Lu Shu complex and the price is $1/100 gram and the nori seaweed is about $3 for a pack of 8. Here you go with this addictive but easy snack recipe. Don’t tell me that I didn’t warn you, you may need to triple or even make more of this recipe to serve your friends and family for the festive holidays 😀
This is my post in 2013 (check here)
- Ingredients:
- 200g Cod fish strips
- 8 pack Nori Seaweed
- adequate egg white and toasted white sesame seeds
Cut the nori seaweed into 7 strips.
Fold 4 cod fish strips together into half. Brush a strip of nori seaweed with egg white and roll it over the cod fish strips at one end.
Dap a a little egg white on the nori seaweed and press on the sesame seeds
Bake at preheated oven 140C for 8-10 minutes or until golden brown.
Leave them to cool and store into an airtight container.

Hi Ann, I baked these yesterday and they were really really addictive. I spent 1-1/2 hours doing and they were all finished in a jiff. Btw, is the seaweed around it supposed to be crispy after baked? Thanks!
Hi Ai Li, If the nori seaweed is fresh ones, then it will be crispy after baked. If you don't like the nori seaweed, you can just tight a knot in the centre of the fish strips and bake like my the other post.

Hi Yee, I kept mine in a container for two days already, so far no problem. You can re-bake them again and store them immediately after baked. You cannot leave them at room temperature for long.
Good morning, Ann! Yes, I remember that and this year, you have come out with a cute-looking octopus shape! Yum yum~
Thanks Jessie. hahaa… I think is more like the horse tail 😀
I can't help salivating looking at those yummy strips. I've seen some on sale now, but with nori sheets wrapped in wonton skin and then deep fried. Baking is definitely more healthy! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you Cheah 🙂 I prefer bake too. The deep fried stuff is too oily.
I have never had anything like those cod strips…they are so fun to make and delicious!
