Apple Brownie Cake 苹果布朗尼蛋糕
Apple Brownie Cake
Ingredients
- 125 g melted butter
- 90 g caster sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 3 red apples - Granny Smith apples
- 50 g walnuts - chopped
- 115 g cake flour or plain flour
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp cinnamon powder
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 170 deg C. Line a 8 inch square tray all sides up. Sift cake flour, baking powder, baking soda and cinnamon powder into a bowl for later use.
- Peel apples, cored and chopped to pieces.
- In a large bowl, combine melted butter, sugar, egg and vanilla extract together with a hand whisk.
- Drop in chopped apples and walnuts and fold with a rubber spatula. Fold the flour mixture into the wet mixture until just blended.
- Spread evenly into the lined cake tray. Bake for about 30 minutes in the preheated oven, or until a skewer inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Leave cake to cool, slice and dust with some icing icing sugar before serving.

做法简单像布兰妮但口感又像蛋糕,是一款很不错的健康的糕点
材料:
- 125克 融化牛油
- 90克 细砂糖
- 1个 大鸡蛋
- 1茶匙 香草香精
- 3粒 红苹果
- 50克 核桃,剁碎
- 115克 底筋或中筋面粉
- 1/2茶匙 泡打粉
- 1/2茶匙 苏打粉
- 1茶匙 肉桂粉
做法:
- 预热烤箱摄氏170度,将一个8寸正方形烤盘铺上油纸,备用。将面粉,泡打粉,苏打粉及肉桂粉一起过筛到碗里,备用。
- 苹果去皮,去核,切丁状。
- 在一个大碗将牛油,砂糖,鸡蛋及香精搅拌均匀。
- 放入苹果丁和核桃,用橡皮刮刀翻拌均匀。最后倒入粉类,再拌匀即可。
- 倒入烤盘里,铺平。送入预热烤箱烘约30分钟左右或竹签扎入蛋糕内部不沾糊就可以了。
- 冷却蛋糕,切片及撒上适量的糖粉即可享用。

Hi Ann! Tried baking this apple brownies this morning. Very nice! Sweetness is perfect even without the icing sugar. However, my mom commented that it is a little soft and moist. Is the brownie meant to be soft and moist?
Yes Wendy, This brownie is soft and moist because of the apples and less flour. You can store this in the fridge.
Oh the brownies can be stored in the fridge! That’s good! I didn’t know and this morning I tried the brownie and felt very moist and a little sticky. Next time I’ll do that with the leftovers 🙂
Hi Wendy, Due to the hot weather, I stored most of my bakes in the fridge.
Very tempted to bake but Can I bake in small muffins cup.
How long can it be store inside the fridge?
Just need to take out from the fridge and leave it to room temperature before consume.

Hi Carol, yes you can bake this cake in small muffins cup. The cake still stayed soft after chilled, therefore no need to thaw in room temperature.
Best to consume the cake within 3 days.
