- Ingredients: makes 9 or 10 piggies
- 25g Kao fen (糕粉-cooked glutinous rice flour)
- 115g Snowskin flour (KCT Pinpe Premix Powder )
- 25g Icing sugar (sifted)
- 23g Crisco/shortening
- 150g Water (boil 300g or more water with 2 pandan leaves, leave to cool) and measure 150g)
- some extra kao fen for dusting
- Valrhona chocolate pearls as piggy eyes
- a round 1/8 teaspoon, a skewer and a small plastic sheet.
- Combine kao fen and snowskin flour (KWT Pinpe Premix Powder) in a big bowl and set aside.
- In a pot, add 150g pandan leaves water with icing sugar and shortening together and bring them to boil until shortening melted, stir with a hand whisk.
- Pour the hot liquid mixture to the flour and use spatula to stir mixture to soft dough and leave dough to cool (you’ll find the dough is quite oily at this time) then knead dough again to smooth, add more kao fen to it if the dough is still too sticky.
- Divide dough into 3 portions and add a drop of colour into it. (pink, green, yellow)
- Measure dough to 25g and wrap in 25g lotus paste or any other filling you prefer.
- Roll it into a ball and dust with some cooked glutinous rice flour (kao fen 糕粉).
- For further steps of making snowskin piggy, please refer to the tutorial below.

How could I forget those gorgeous oinks that you've made last year ?! I think , the cutest mooncakes in the world ! 😀 These batch are just as awesome ! So , how much per piece ?! lol Great job , Ann !!!!

These piggy mooncakes are so cute! Thnaks for your detailed instructions. I would love to give these a try. When you say cooked glutinous rice flour, do you mean dry frying it in a pan?
SO CUTE! Can't bear to eat it!
Wooow…hermosos cerdos me los comería todos son irresistible, una gran idea, abrazos hugs, hugs.
Out of all the pig shaped snowskin mooncakes I came across, yours are definitely the cutest. Thanks for providing step by step on how to make them! Now that I finally know how to make the snowskin mooncake (this year I just used traditional molds), hopefully I can play around with animal shaped ones next year!
Thank you Kirbie 🙂 Did you post your mooncakes?
These are such deliciously looking cute piggies!
These are such deliciously looking cute piggies!
Hi AnnCan't wait to make this cutie pig!I bought a pack of the premix powder from KCT today, and notice that the recipe printed on the package is diff from what u used here. May I check if you have any comments on the given recipe? Actually, I hope you will tell me to just follow your method cos their recipe requires Maltose. =p
Good morning to you Cookie :DI didn't follow KCT recipe because I think my adjustments are equally good. The dough skin still keep soft after 3-5 days after chilled. BTW I think is better to use crisco than shortening as I'd tried the other day and find the dough skin dries up after two days.Looking forward to see your post soon 🙂
wow…..what a creation! hats off you Ann!! Piggies looks sooooo cute..love it 🙂
Hi Ann, where can I buy Valrhona Chocolate?
Hi Sheryl, The chocolate balls are available at Sunlik.
Hi, Love your lovely Oink Oink, would like to check with you, for the ears and nose, how you stick them, and how many grams for the the 3 small ball (for nose and ears). Thank you !
Hi Josephine, Thank you! There is no exact weight for the ears and nose. You can make them bigger or smaller as you wish. Gently press the ears on the piggy head and use a skewer and press like you saw on the pic above (same as the nose).
Thank you very much, have a good weekend ahead:)
Just waana to check where to but valrhona chocolate?
