Extra Low-fat Brownies 超低脂布朗尼



Most brownies are fudgy and chocolately but this one is made of low-fat yoghurt, valrohna cocoa powder in place of semi-sweet chocolate and vegetable oil. These brownies have a chewy texture and the addition of cashew nuts gave them the extra crunch and aroma. The brownie that I made was quite low as Iused a 20cm square baking tray but you can definitely use a smaller baking tray (18cm) for a thicker brownie. I cut the brownie into 20 pieces for a modest sized but feel free to cut to a larger size as desired. Do remember not to over bake the brownies or they'll be too dry. Best serve warm with a cup of coffee and this is also good as a Christmas treat.





Extra Low-Fat Brownies


    Ingredients:
     100g Plain flour
     1/2 tsp Baking powder
     3 tbsp Valrohna cocoa powder
     160g Caster sugar
     100ml Low-fat yoghurt
     2 Eggs
     1/2 tsp Vanilla extract
     1 1/2 tbsp Vegetable oil (Canola oil)
     85g Baked cahew nuts 





     Method:
  • Sift flour, baking powder and cocoa powder together.
  • Whisk sugar and eggs together for a while. Stir in yoghurt, oil and vanilla extract. Pour in the sifted dry ingredients  and mix well. Stir in half of cashews.
  • Pour the batter in a 20cm square baking tray lined with baking paper. Arrange the remaining cashews on top. Bake in a preheated oven at 180 degrees C for 20 minutes. Serve.
kitchen note: Soak the raw cashew nuts in hot water for a minute. Drain and put them in a preheated oven and bake at 180C for 7 minutes.

超低脂布朗尼

      材料:
      100克 面粉
      1/2茶匙 发粉
      3汤匙 可可粉
      160克 幼砂糖
      100毫升 低脂乳酪
      2粒 鸡蛋
      1/2茶匙 Vanilla香油
      1 1/2 汤匙 菜油
      85个烘香腰果


      做法:
  • 面粉,发粉,可可粉同萨均。
  • 糖及鸡蛋略拂均,拌入乳酪,菜油和vanilla香油,倒入粉料拌均,拌入一半份量的腰果。
  • 倒入已以垫牛油纸的20厘米放型烤盘内,铺上余下的腰果,放入预热烤箱,以180度烤约20十分钟即可品尝。

**腰果可预先用热水浸配刻,隔去水分后,放入预热烤箱用180度烘约7分钟,让布兰妮更香脆。

  5. For a frequent baker, it's quite important to look after our diet, speaking of that, I'm still a naughty one who hasn't been checking on my cholesterol level, hehehe. These brownies look certainly delicious to me, some more is low fat!

  18. Wow! Thanks Ann for Extra Low-fat Brownies. Another great recipe because so little oil used. I had never baked a brownie before because of the amount of fat in it. Really, appreciate I can start baking brownie for the first time and enjoy savoring it pretty soon and The Dried Tomato Cherry, Pineapple and Almond Loaf recipe, perfect for Christmas and even Chinese New Year.
