Cendol
ย
Cendol is a popular and traditional dessert originating in South East Asia. The dessert basic ingredients consist of coconut milk, cendol (a worm-like jelly made from rice four with green food coloring ~ usually derived from the pandan leaf), shaved ice and gula melaka (palm sugar). Next to these basic recipe, other ingredients such as red beans, grass jelly, creamed corn or even durian, might also be included. (from wiki)
Enjoy this icy cool cendol dessert especially during the hot days.

Homemade cendol is always very fresh and beautiful. I used to eat the traditional Malay ones with homemade cendol strips with specks of pandan in them. I really missed eating the Malay version.
Zoe, Hope you can get the ingredients in Australia, so you can make them at home.
Looks delicious! ๐ I love these kinds of desserts, though I haven't had cendol specifically. Very pretty dessert!

I muss cendo! I haven't had one for years! Since I moved to a not so "Asian concentrated" area, it's hard to find a restaurant that serve this. ๐ Well, maybe it's time to make my own. Thanks for sharing your recipe. It seems pretty easy to make.
Amy, you're welcome ๐ I'm sure you can get the ingredients easily in Asian store and make it at home.
