Pork Rib Stew
Ingredients:
1 Star anise
30g Chopped garlic
20g Chopped shallot
10g Ginger – cut to slices
2 Dried chilli – remove seed
400-600ml Water
600g Pork rib with some fats in it, cut to about 4″ length
Seasoning:
1 tbsp White vinegar
1 tbsp Light soy sauce
1 1/2tbsp Dark soy sauce
1 tbsp Oyster sauce
1 tbsp Sugar
1 tsp Salt
1/2 tsp Pepper
1/4 tsp Five spice powder
1 tbsp Chinese cooking wine (Hua Tiao Chiew)
1 tbsp Corn flour + 2 tbsp water
Method:
- Marinate pork rib with the seasoning for few hours or overnight.
- Heat wok with about 2 tbsp cooking oil and add ginger, garlic, shallot, star anise and dried chilli, fry till fragrant.
- Pour in the pork rib together with the seasoning sauce, fry well and add about 400ml water.
- Bring to boil and simmer at low heat for about one hour or cook the pork rib till tender (add a little more water when pork rib dries up a little).
- Serve hot with rice.

These pork ribs look delicious. How do you pork ribs. I always feel cheated when buying pork ribs. No meat so I gave up and instead asked my sis to buy for me.
This is a recipe that I have never seen anywhere! Very original and tasty with the star anise! Love pork ribs and I havent had them in years!

What a fabulous meal! I'm hungry again….hmmm. We went out this evening and my hubby bought a fairly big piece of fresh oven baked pork ribs from the supermarket. He said he wanted it for dinner.
