Pan Fried Radish Cake 香煎萝卜丝饼
Here is another simple way of preparing this Pan Fried Radish Cake without first steaming it. There are only a few main ingredients in the recipe, radish (or daikon), dried shrimps, spring onion, plain flour, cornstarch and with little seasonings. It’s a delicious and fragrant snack (or dim sum), crisp on the outside, soft on the inside. Definitely perfect to enjoy at home with your family, especially for the coming festive holidays, Chinese Lunar New Year. I used the all-in-one pan (refer here) to fry the radish cake and they look a bit flat and bigger in size. You may fry the radish cake in smaller portions in a non-stick pan, so that there are more to serve.

Pan Fried Radish Cake
Ingredients
- 600 g radish - shredded
- 25 g dried shrimp
- 2 tbsp spring onion
Seasoning
- 1 tsp chicken powder
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1/2 tsp sesame oil
- 2 tbsp plain flour
- 2 tbsp cornstarch
- dash of pepper
Instructions
- Soak dried shrimps in water for 10 minutes, remove water and blend fine. Set aside.
- Blanch shredded radish in boiling water till soft for about one minute. Dish up and leave to cool, then squeeze out excess water gently. The shredded radish should be a little wet to mix with the flours.
- Combine shredded radish, dried shrimp and spring onion in a bowl. Add seasoning and mix well. Lastly add plain flour and cornstarch. Mix mixture well again with dash of pepper.
- Divide radish mixture into 6 portions, and fry in one pan with 4 cavities. Pan fry the radish cake with oil on both sides till aromatic and golden brown about 3 minutes on each side at medium low heat.

- 材料:
- 600克 白萝卜,刨成丝
- 25克 虾米
- 2汤匙 葱花
- 调味料
- 1茶匙 鸡精粉
- 1茶匙 砂糖
- 1/2茶匙 麻油
- 2汤匙 中筋面粉
- 2汤匙 玉米淀粉
- 胡椒粉,适量
- 做法:
- 虾米浸泡10分钟沥干水分,用搅拌器磨碎或剁碎。
- 萝卜丝氽水约1分钟至软。捞起待凉;挤出水分,不用挤太干,因为面粉没加水。
- 将萝卜丝,虾米和葱花放入碗中,加入调味料拌匀。最后放入面粉,玉米淀粉和胡椒粉,再混合均匀即可。
- 萝卜丝混合物分成6等份。加热松饼锅 (可参考这里),放入食油和萝卜丝混合物,用中小火两面煎至金黄色及闻到香气就可以了。**1面煎3分钟**
