Pandan Smoothie
I’ve been taking light meals and lots of fresh fruits recently due to insanely hot weather here. The weather is so hot and humid for the past whole week, even after I watered my plants twice a day, some of the plants still suffered stress, that is the roots and leaves dried up and died.
So today I’ve made “smoothie” from leftovers which I think this is perfect for the hot weather.
These pretty purple flowers were picked from my garden and purple is my favorite color
Serves 2
3 Pandan leaves click here (from my garden) cut to 2″ length
250ml boiled and cooled water
3 Oranges, peeled and quartered
100g Cucumber, cut into small cubes
5-6 tbsp Honey or to taste
200ml Soda

- Blend pandan leaves and water together, strain.
- Blend oranges, cucumber, honey and soda, then add in the pandan water again and mix well.
- Pour “Smoothie” into a jug and leave to chill in the fridge before serving.

Sophia: Oh so happy that you're here. The Great Singapore just started, so you can shop and buy more! To beat the heat, you must try fresh coconut water and ice cendol or maybe some chinese desserts at Liang Seah Street.
Thank you Rebecca.
Thanks Katy!
Food4Tots: Yes this is not bad but a bit raw, so I think boil the pandan leaves taste better.
Thanks Peanutts!

Claudia: Thank you for visiting. I think the weather in Montreal is not so bad compare to here.
Oh, how I envy those pretty purple flowers.
For now, I think I won't complain about a somewhat chillier temperature here in Montreal.
Those sweaty weather moments will however be soon on our doorstep too.
I will be looking forward to making great new refreshing beverages ;o)
Thanks for sharing and flavourful wishes, Claudia
I have never had pandan .. gotta try it next time I visit Asia.
Can't really stand of the hot weather. Sweating every moment, sigh…
I love the purple flowers and this drink sounds and looks so refreshing! I need to check out pandan leaves
Very interesting and I don't think I've ever had a pandan version before.
Can I have a sip please? Yes, you are right, the weather is insane! Just had thunderstorm and heavy rain, hope I can get a good night's sleep without the AC tonight.
同意Jane说的,照片拍的相当有质感。Frankly, me curve for smoothie lately and it must be something to do with berries, strawberry, raspberry etc. Ur smoothie is different, looks so healthy and refreshing.
Didn't know could actually use pandan to make smoothie, plus the cucumber and orange, sure taste nice and cooling.
I just had to come and check out your blog and I am glad I did. This drink look fantastic. The colour is amazing and your flowers are beautiful.
That sounds really refreshing and must have great aroma too!
Wow, a very unique smoothie with Pandan leaves! I love your presentation with the pretty flowers! Thank you so much for sending it over for the 5 Star Makover!
Perfect for the hot weather, love the serene green color 😀
that`s so delicious and springly!
Ann this sounds fascinating… I love that I can't imagine off the cuff what this would taste like. I'll have to try it some time. And what lovely flowers!
You are right – the weather is criminal. I was walkin in and out of a conference hall today and it was horrible! Melting outside, freezing inside.
Super hot, these few days…
Hope you had a good rest Anncoo. 🙂 Wow, very unique! I bet anyone that loves Pandan will slurp up this in no time. 😉
Jagruti: Thanks!
Thank you hungrytummies *.*
Lori: Pandan cream puff? Very creative and thanks for your sweet comment.
Thank you Rachel ;DD
Madin: Thank you for visiting. I total agreed that frozen pandan flavor is not as strong as the fresh one. Is pandan paste available in the US?

Thank you Barbara for your nice words.

Mary: Thanks! The weather is so unpredictable. Looks like going to rain just now but can only hear the thunder roaring. I would be very happy if the temperature is only at 30 degree everyday.
Thanks Lydnsey. Have you try to plant pandan?
I've never thought of making pandan smoothie! Very creative! Looks and sounds really refreshing.

Pandan smoothie sounds really exotic to me, but so refreshing! Summer in Japan is hot and humid too, you know, so well worth a try. Thanks 🙂
The purple flowers are so pretty they almost don't look really. Great photo of you delicious drink.
Sounds like a veyr refreshing drink. Love the green color!
Hi, Thank you for this post. We loved pandan. We used them a lot when I was growing up in the Philippines. I am jealous of your pandan plants. I can only get them frozen here. Love this smoothie.

I just made some pandan cream puff. Oh if I had some essence. But I must say that the flavor of pandan was so good and interesting to me. I am quite sure I would like to try this drink of yours.
This greeny smoothie looks so refreshing.
Take good care dear, don't get too tired. Have a great weekend~
