Walnut Pie

Prepare short pastry for 1 piece 8″pie tray (click here)
Ingredients:
75g Butter
75g Semi-sweet chocolate – chop to small pieces
2 Eggs
75g Brown sugar
1 tsp Vanilla flavor
200g Walnut
Method:
- Melt butter in a pot on double boiler.
- Then add in semi-sweet chocolate and eggs, stir with a hand whisk till mixture dissolved and leave pot from fire.
- Add in brown sugar and vanilla flavor. Stir well till sugar melted.
- Arrange walnut in pie tray in two layer and fill in the chocolate mixture.
- Bake at 160C for about 50 mins.
- For easy cutting, chill the walnut pie before serve .

Sonia: If your kids doesn't like walnuts, you can add other nuts – macadamia or pitaschio nuts.

Joyce: Yes, I also love pecan pie but it is quite sweet in my recipe using glucose. I think health is most important than anything in life. I am not really a sweet tooth type, so I always try to reduce the sugar.

I wish I had a walnut tree in my yard. A southern tradition is to make a pecan pie here in the south but I honestly never thought to make a walnut pie. Your family and friends are so lucky to have you bake for them. I tend to bake in spurts and I give most of it away as my husband is a diabetic and honestly I do not need to eat so many calories by myself:)
