Bee, I ever tried in a Teochew restaurant that they serve Or Nee with pumpkin. I thought this is common in serving Or Nee with Pumpkin.
Right Min, have try. Very easy and simple tong sui, your family will love it.
Quay Po~ right, I think Thai yam is the best.
Jeannie, Besides pumpkin you can use sweet potato too.
Ann, lovely photos and beautiful presentation. The tong sui looks tempting too.
@lena
Lena, This is easier to cook than Or Nee, can be ready in 30 mins ๐
@wendyywy @ Table for 2….. or more
No coconut milk is added in this dessert only yam and water with potato starch.
@anne
Anne, I also like to add sweet potato especially in cheng tng.
@Jessie-CookingMoments
Jessie, bo bo cha cha is cook with coconut cream while this is only yam with water that blended together.
Hi Anncoo, seems like I haven't been visiting you for a while but in fact, I did browse your blog sometimes (when I was eating) but just no time to post my message.Here I come to eat your tong shui. How much is the difference between this and bo bo cha cha? It looks just as tasty as bo bo cha cha to me!
It looks wonderful! I had some delicious steamed yam desserts in China, my favorite was topped with sea-buckthorn jelly. I had no idea how to produce anything like that myself, though, so thank you so much for this recipe1 ;0
I am not a fan of gingko nuts too, so I'll omit it if I can find nice yam to buy ๐ This is something different from the usual fare!
I prefer to have it with sago too. Looks good!
Fantastic!! This is one of my fav desserts! ๐ Thanks for sharing!
