Chocolate Mochi Balls 巧克力麻薯球
I have never heard of or tried Chocolate Mochi Balls (most called these as Mochi Bread) before until I saw Catherine share her picture and recipe on Instagram. I just can’t wait to try it out myself. This is another easy recipe to make without much effort. The ingredients for this gluten free snack are glutinous rice flour, tapioca flour, cocoa powder and chocolate chips. All you need to do is just mix the ingredients together and form them into mini size balls and these can be easily popped into your mouth at one go. It has a a crusty bite on the outside and inside is chewy with melted chocolate chips which gives a very nice sweet flavour. It is best to consume them slightly warm after taking them out from the oven.

These are really good warm out of the oven.
Hi I hv tried out the recipe and is really nice when serving it warm. However, it is kind of hard after it cool down. May I kn how how to make it softer even when it cool down. THANK YOU.
Hi Hweetin, You can reheat the mochi balls in the toaster oven for about 10 minutes. Will try to create another recipe soon.
i’vr tried following yr food recipe. But the internal part is not as chewy. May know what can be improve the inner texture to be more chewy like those selling in 4leaves ? 🙂
Hi Grace, This is my time trying this recipe and I’m not familiar with the actual texture of mochi ball/bread as I’ve never tasted before. It could be that I’ve added too much chocolate chips in it. Will try to create another recipe soon.
Hi Ann, can I replace the chocolate chip with cocoa powder?
Hi Jenny, you can just omit the chocolate chips. Too much cocoa powder will make the dough very dry.
Never heard of this before but they do look good with the melted choc chips!
These must be super delicious!
Hi, your instructions include milk, which however is not in your recipe. Could you please clarify? Many thanks. I would love to try out the recipe.
Hi Jamaliah, The is to be added after egg and melted butter (step 2).
